Governor Mifflin School District
The Governor Mifflin School District is located in the southern part of Berks COunty, located south of the city of Reading. It serves the boroughs of Kenhorsr, Mohnton, and Shillington, as well as the townships of Brecknock and Cumru.
There are more than 300 educators and 4,000 students enrolled at the 6 schools operated by the Governor Mifflin School District: Governor Mifflin Senior High School,Governor Mifflin Middle School, Governor Mifflin Intermediate School, Brecknock Elementary, Cumru Elementary and Mifflin Park Elementary. The Governor Mifflin School District’s mission is: Educating while Inspiring, and Empowering Every Student Every Day. Their school colors are maroon and gold and the Mustang is their mascot.
Governor Mifflin schools offer a wide variety of individual and team sports for students residing in their district. Students are encouraged to participate in 26 different varsity sports, as well as a variety of intramural programs and 35 co-curricular activities are offered. School students are the founders and promoters of Mustang Nation, the district-wide culture and pride initiative. Almost 88% of graduates go on to two- and four-year college, nursing, business, or technical schools. Governor Mifflin also has an active Alumni group and Education Foundation.

Major routes run directly through the school district offering quick access to Reading, Lancaster, Pottstown and beyond. Every 4th of July, the Greater Governor Mifflin League hosts Community Days, a weeklong celebration of music, food and rides culminating in one of the largest fireworks shows in the area.
