Yes, you read that right! I saved thousands of dollars using the RE/MAX of Reading Preferred Vendors!
I will share my story with you here in two parts, and we would like to hear YOUR stories.
Have you used a Preferred Vendor for yourself or referred them to a client? We would like to know how that went. Stop by and tell your story or shoot an email to info@GoBerksCounty.com. Together, let’s spread the word about this amazing group of professionals.
There is no way around it, we all have an electric bill, and many of us also have a gas bill. NRG can now help you save money on both! Your energy bills are made up of two parts; distribution of energy and supply of energy. In Pennsylvania you can choose the company which supplies your energy. That means you can shop for the best rates! www.PAPowerSwitch.com is a site I have been using since 2014 to make sure my family and I are getting the best rate on electric.
In March of 2015, NRG formed a relationship with RE/MAX of Reading. The CORE of this relationship are the two Moving Concierges that rent space here at 1290 Broadcasting Road. These professional women are able to assist the buyers and sellers at RE/MAX switch ALL of their utilities when moving. This is true weather or not that buyer or seller chooses to use NRG as their electric or gas supplier. These professionals are like ninjas with utilities. They know the process, and are able to assist our clients so they can have a few less things to worry about when they are moving.
So back to the saving money…
Knowing the rates available on PAPowerSwitch.com, I knew right away that NRG would be able to save me real money. Of course, this won’t happen all the time, but Ana Ruiz and Alyssa Koehler ( the in-house NRG Moving Concierge team at RE/MAX of Reading) have access to specials and deals that may not be published on the site. Truly, this is no strings, no hassle and saves you REAL money. Even if you are not moving, you owe it to your personal budget to at least find out if they can save you money.
Still not sure? Take a look at the graphs I created from our actual bills:
These are REAL numbers from a 3000 sq ft home in Sinking Spring, occupied by a family of 4. A slightly-smart home, this home has one Neato vacuum on each floor which are scheduled to run every week day, a Nest Thermostat that keeps the temperature on a schedule, cooling or heating only when the family is home. This home is also equipped with LED energy saving light bulbs in most areas of the home, and a Phillips Hue Hub which controls the rest of the lights with a command said out loud to Alexa (the Amazon Echo). Knowing all of that, we can assume the energy usage in this home may or may not match the average home in Berks County.
Recently, NRG also became an approved supplier of gas in Pennsylvania, so I took my gas bill to Ana Ruiz, an NRG Moving Concierge here at RE/MAX of Reading! Sure enough, she can save me money there too! I have included a screen capture of my last gas bill so you can see the difference in supplier vs. distribution charges. It’s the supply that will be taken over by NRG. Our new rate through NRG will be saving our family nearly 50% on our supply costs. Of course your savings may be different if you already had a competitive rate for gas supply, or if you had a much higher rate than we did. While it may not calculate to a lot of savings during the summer months, this winter could be another cold one. So… saving nearly 50% will add up quickly!!
